Hopping Freights — part 10

In September 1981 I left Roseville on a hot afternoon and enjoyed a nice daytime ride over the Sierra to Ogden and Salt Lake. This tunnel is one of several that are passed through on the west side, and is along a bare, rocky section that gets lots of snow during the winter. At the time eastbound freights used the track going through the tunnel and westbounds used the other track, or maybe it was the other way around...
